Do you want to get away from grabbing the mouse every time you want to do a new step in QuickBooks?  There are a whole lot of shortcuts built into the software that can be great time savers.  Learn how theses shortcuts can save you time.  You will take away a list of these shortcuts that you can take back to your office to become more proficient.

 Company Setup Done Correctly – Joe Aliota, CPA

It is so much easier to start with a correct setup than to go back and makes fixes later.  Whether you are setting up your first company or are going to be setting up new companies in the future, you want it done right.  Learn how to, most importantly, set up the chart of accounts.  You also will learn how to set up customers/job and vendors including terms of payment.

Understanding networks and servers are a requirement for effective multi-user environments.  In this session we will discuss the different implementation scenarios and best practices for computer networking.  We’ll clearly explain Peer-To-Peer, Client/Server, Terminal Server, and VPN Technologies so you’ll know when and how to use them.  We will walk through the best network environment for each of several QuickBooks situations and how to effectively work remotely.  You will learn how to configure the network and the QuickBooks Database Server to achieve the best performance on the network.

QuickBooks has about 140 reports already built into the software.  What can you do to make the reports work the best for you?  Learn how to use these reports to get the information you need to make good management decisions.

Computing in the Clouds – The Future of Computing – Chuck Vigeant, M.Ed

There is a major change underway in how businesses acquire and utilize technology. Some believe it will turn out to be as important as the advent of personal computers. This change is the movement away from running applications in-house on a company’s computers to using hosted services. At first it appears to be only a physical change in which the software is hosted. However, the benefits are turning out to be huge. Lower costs, improved reliability, very significantly improved functionality, ease of access, and improved security are some of these benefits.
